On the podcast:

This week I’m talking to Holly Alberti. Holly heads up Integrated Customer Experience on the Flrish marketing team, supporting theHarborside Family of companies. She's a visionary, creator, and integrator - creating change, spreading inspiration & education through social entrepreneurship. Holly began her cannabis career on the East Coast working with local groups and crafting the vision for Healthy Headie Lifestyle. Later, she was asked to join the core team that worked to apply in the 1st round of Registered Marijuana Dispensary’s in Massachusetts. With 15+ years in customer service, branding, communications and her expert knowledge of the cannabis space, Holly has consulted for industry titans such as Harborside, GoldDrop Extracts, Blue River Terps, Stashlogix and many more, on community engagement and biz development strategies. She’s active in many community groups and also acts as advisor, board member, mentor, and cannabis connector.

In this episode, we chat about Holly’s journey into cannabis business and how she’s honed in on her business sweet spot; the power of connecting, fostering and maintaining relationships - not only as you build your business but in life; Holly’s experience marrying passion & skill set and choosing to work only with companies whose mission and philosophy are aligned with hers; how to market & amplify brands within the current federal restrictions; getting down to the 'why' behind your biz and creating a meaningful story your consumer can connect with; how your brand can be a vehicle for change and education to help alter perceptions and miseducation about cannabis; and the importance of women taking the initiative lift each other up and invest in one another. Tune in now!

Her Headliners:

Stand up. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) introduced the Marijuana in Federally Assisted Housing Parity Act of 2018, AKA the Sondra Battle Cannabis Fair Use Act, a bill that would allow the use of cannabis for residents in federally subsidized housing, in states where it's already legal, for medical or recreational purposes. Sondra Battle was threatened with eviction for marijuana use (which she opts for instead of heavy pain meds) after filing a complaint about the presence of black mold in her kitchen. “Residents like Sondra should not fear eviction from federally-assisted housing simply for using cannabis to treat their medical conditions. Individuals who live in states where medical and or recreational marijuana is legal; but live in federally assisted housing, should have the same access to treatment as their neighbors.” Washington Informer

Girl Army. These three organizations aim to support, educate, and empower women in the cannabis industry. Get to know them. Entrepreneur

The Chief has spoken. In a recent report, England's Chief Medical Officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies, recommends the re-scheduling of cannabis based on her review of current research. “As summarized in this review, there is now conclusive evidence of medicinal benefit of cannabis based products for certain medical conditions, and reasonable evidence of benefit for indications that they may be useful under restricted circumstances. My recommendation is that cannabis based medicinal products are moved out of Schedule 1 of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001." Telegraph

Bay State. The Massachusetts canna scene may be slow going, but these 9 ladies are at the forefront and ready for the mega growth to come. (Btw, we're in MA too and even readier!BostInno

New day. Mexico's incoming Interior Secretary, Olga Sánchez Cordero, who served as a Supreme Court Justice, is an advocate for abortion, same-sex marriage and the recreational use of cannabis. Her initiatives will include ending the prohibition of cannabis cultivation. "Canada has already decriminalized, as well as almost half of the states in the United States. What are we thinking? Why are we killing ourselves when North America and many European countries have decriminalized?" NBC

Cheese. Miss Grass co-founders, Anna Duckworth and Kate Miller, talk cannabis self-care and wellbeing on the Cheddar. (Stay tuned for our podcast chat with Anna coming out soon!Cheddar
