On the podcast:

This week I’m talking to Diane Czarkowski, one of the industry’s original cannabis entrepreneurs and Founding Partner at Canna Advisors. She has played an influential role in the cannabis market since its early stages, helping develop it into one of fastest growing industries in the United States. With decades of career success in high-tech and real estate, Diane’s business agility stems from working in industries that are rapidly growing and evolving. She was the founder of one of the first dispensary and cultivation facilities in Colorado, earning the reputation as one of most professional and patient-focused dispensaries in the state. Since establishing Canna Advisors, the firm has earned one of the best track records in the industry. Diane works closely with clients, advising them on best practices to anticipate change and proactively work to meet the changes. She focuses on the operational needs of Canna Advisors and oversees HR, Accounting, Marketing, PR, IT and Client Services.

In this episode, we chat about Diane's pioneering work in the cannabis industry and her experience leading the premier canna consulting firm. She shares her thoughts on the current state of the industry, and where she sees it going. We talk about what one needs to do to begin the process of opening a dispensary and a common mistake often made on licensing applications. Diane also shares her vision for the future of cannabis, her advice for women interested in getting into the space, how to get involved in lobbying congress with the National Cannabis Industry Association and more. Click below to tune in!

Green machine. Amy Andrle, co-founder of Denver's first dispensary with the Certifiably Green designation, L'Eagle, talks about what it takes to achieve this certificate of excellence and maintain very high quality sustainable practices in cultivation. "The biggest challenge here is not inside L’Eagle’s facility, but rather helping consumers discern quality cultivation is more than a marketing ploy, and can be verified by third-party certifiers." Westword

Case closed. Whitney Beatty, CEO of Apothecarry Brands, is profiled and shares why she created her line of high end luxury cases for flower. “If my liquor is in my bar, my cigars are in my humidor, and my wine is in wine fridge, why the heck is my herb in a shoebox in the closet?!” Entrepreneur

Intersection. Judith Ohikuare talks to women of color about their experience in the cannabis industry and the opportunity to make money and do good. "Do you invest your time, money, and liberty in a space where Black people are both under-resourced and face greater legal scrutiny, or do you play it safe and miss out? Those who feel they have too much to lose may be unwilling to bet on the “inevitability” of legalization, but others, especially those who have already invested a good deal of money in cannabis, think the gamble is in not trying." Refinery29
